“BEYOND THE BOX”
-Key note speaker - Postmaster Corrie Campbell
Corrie Campbell – postmaster of the Nuga Moya Post Office - has learned, through years of hard experience, how unthreatening and refreshing CHANGE can be.
His MISSION is to spread this message wide and far in his guise as a Corporate Communications Expert.
His VISION is to disseminate his acquired knowledge to all his fellow South Africans. (Only Corrie calls it inseminating the information).

In the course of his highly entertaining presentation he demonstrates a remarkable talent as a raconteur, who unwittingly displays all the recognisable human foibles and fears, which so many people have in common with him.
Corrie Campbell’s appeal as the common man is limitless. In laughing partly with him and partly at his recognizable foibles, there is scope for a real connection with audiences, as we struggle with the inevitable and sometimes radical changes necessitated by transformation.
Key messages are:
• Change can be unthreatening and refreshing.
• Change cannot be forced, but nevertheless needs to be addressed consistently and urgently.
• The complex art of listening requires a focus on the unheard sounds: – the subtext of a situation.
• Stereotypes are useful, because they enable us to categorize and understand the world. But pigeon-holing is unfair and breeds prejudice.
• Positive inter-group relations occur only with equal status; common goal focus; cooperative dependency and positive endorsement from authorities, laws and customs.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR YOUR FUNCTION
A Rural School Musical
Annie Robinson has been working for some months now with a group of school pupils from Nottingham Road Combined from Grades 8 -11. This a story about children living and growing up in Bruntville. Their take on HIV, AIDS, education drugs and more – what it is like as a teenager growing up in todays’ society.
This Rural school Musical has been written and directed by Annie Robinson and the music has been composed by Mr Abri Venter from Michaelhouse. The aim of this project is that it is sustainable so with each show we ask that the audience pay a fee.
You will laugh and you will cry but most of all you will have fun and enjoy the enthusiasm and energy of these kids. It is the story of their lives ….it is their hopes and dreams.

Dinner Thrillers
Endorsements Letter from South Africa - The Good News

It is often said that the ‘tragedy of the poor is in the poverty of their aspirations’. Many children in our poorer, rural and peri-urban schools are not afforded the best opportunity to discover their talents in music, in sport and in academics. If that were not enough, township life is hard, young children are exposed at an especially early age to the trappings of drugs, alcohol, underage sex and violence. The consequences are dire for two reasons:
• Their dreams, aspirations and hopes for the future are severely curtailed by this kind of dysfunctional community life.
• Their prospects of employment become virtually hopeless.
The Nottingham Road Combined School, while one of the better performing rural schools, draws many of its learners from Bruntville in Mooi River, a ‘typical’ poor township where unemployment and deviant youth are significant community challenges.
When I was invited to attend a musical put on by concerned members of the local community, Brendan and Annie Grealy, I didn’t really know what to expect. When the show was put on for the boys at Michaelhouse I was anxious that it would flop.
The very opposite happened. Firstly, I was stunned by the energy, the enjoyment and the quality of the performance. For a group of amateur learners who have never had the opportunity of being on stage it was a remarkable performance. Secondly, I was blown away by the reaction of the audience. The Michaelhouse boys, from privileged backgrounds, were enthralled by the message, the energy and the sheer personality of the performers. The question and answer session at the end went on for half an hour! Again, when I watched a performance for disabled people from ……………………………. the reaction of the audience was extraordinary – with earnest conversation carrying on late into the afternoon. Brendan and Annie Grealy are, in a modest way, providing these learners with an opportunity that will make them proud. Proud of their talents; proud of the story they tell; proud of their hopes and aspirations of the future; proud of their circumstances; and proud of their ability to entertain and enthrall audiences.
The Grealy’s, and their dedication to making a difference in our community come highly recommended.

DINNER THRILLERS are gripping theatre, a sophisticated mind-challenge and loads of fun.

In a classic ‘dinner theatre’ setting and ambience – and woven through a delicious three-course meal - the Dinner Thriller genre is designed to challenge, delight and entertain; lifting the corporate team-building experience onto an exciting new level of sophistication.
The actors initiate the evening with the Prologue, whisking the diners back a hundred years to a golden time and place in our country’s past: this could be a Randlord’s mansion on the Parktown Ridge in Edwardian Johannesburg; 1909… Or perhaps midwinter in Nottingham Road in the Natal Midlands the year after the First World War; 1919…Or a sugar baron’s estate on the Natal north coast in the ‘roaring twenties’; 1929! Or a private school in the Natal Midlands at the start of the second world war 1939.
During the Prologue, diners are also introduced to the characters of the drama; and in true Agatha Christie style, all characters will be possible suspects later on…
For of course, a gruesome murder will happen during the course of the evening – and all characters will turn out to have a very good motive to commit the crime…
The challenge for the diners at each table is to use their ‘little grey cells’ to unravel the mystery; to work out whodunnit and why.
Over dessert each table elects a spokesperson to posit their ingenious theory and much hilarity results!
Points accumulated through the evening – the actors quiz the diners after each course on the information revealed thus far – are tallied up; and the winning table justly acclaimed.
Created and devised by Paul Spence, formerly of The Royal Shakespeare Company, in tandem with celebrated South African actress, Annie Robinson. Dinner Thrillers are an unforgettable, interactive experience.
You will be superbly wined, dined and royally entertained!

Hi Annie & Paul
The performance was one of a kind for me and a definite first experience. I was very pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed a very intriguing and entertaining dinner party at “the Randlords Mansion”. Your acting was superb and only at the very end could one meet Annie & Paul because when we stepped out of the realm with Julia and Henry. It is an experience i will not forget and hope to experience it again in the future. I hope you reach bigger markets and that more people get to see your productions, you both are indeed extraordinarily talented and passionate.
Wishing you both the very best for your future endeavours.
Regards

Hi Henry & Julia Beaufort (Annie & Paul in reality),
I am glad to hear from you and must inform you that I was absolutely amazed with your performance as well as mind boggling, suspense hitting story. It was the first time that I sat through a murder mystery but with such great acting skills it made my experience want some more. You two are phenomenal ! Annie, you could play the part of “Cherel in Isidingo” any day. The story was great but you two brought it to life with your superb acting ability. The truth is that when I knew we were going into that room it made me so nervous as “Henry” in the beginning kept saying we’ll need a drink to go in there and I was trying in my mind to uncover what it was that we were going to do. I was quiet nervous. I thought I was going to see something gruesome. Only to my surprise I really enjoyed the evening. It was an experience that I will never forget. It has left in my mind a beautiful memory of our 2011 Team Building Murder Mystery Dinner.
I am going to mention you to Sarah Reeves from Altech UEC who is the Training and Development Manager there. That is the previous company I worked in. I am sure that it would be great for them to utilise your services for either their team building evening or staff functions. I would love to know if their intelligent engineers can crack your story!
Once again thanks for an eventful Dinner at the “Ranlords Mansion” at Fourdoun. Please do invite me again should you two decide to have another ! lol
PS. I have attached the picture from the dinner.
Warm Regards

Dear Annie
Thank you for the mail.
We really had a spectacular evening with you and Paul. I must say, it was my very first Diner Theatre performance of this sort. And I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
It was so uniquely incorporated with the 3 course meal, which was pretty astounding. You guys performed the roles so brilliantly, and captured the scenes with such realism. Even the costumes, the dialogues, and the portrayal of the 1900’s was simply awesome.
Thank you for making our stay at Fordoun, Midlands, a truly memorable one.
Have a fantastic day!
Warm Regards,
Tilisha Thulseepersad

Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to confirm that Project Gateway recently hosted a fundraising Murder Mystery Supper at The Dive, Hexagon Theatre, UKZN. For three nights, Paul Spence and Annie Robinson entertained a packed auditorium with their wonderful performance of ‘The Strange Case of Hester Cilliers’.
It has been a pleasure to work with Paul and Annie and the staff at The Hexagon Theatre and Hexagon Catering, and we hope that Project Gateway will be able to work with them again in the future with further events. They have presented both a professional and friendly manner in all our dealings with them and we would fully recommend them to others.

Dear Annie,
Just a quick note to thank you for the fantastic evening that we had last night at the Yellowwood Café. We haven’t had such fun in a long time and were so impressed with you both and mindful of just how much hard work goes into something like that! We were all quite enchanted! I am hoping to bring my parents and a whole lot more friends to another of your supper theatres now that we know what it is all about! We had many good giggles and did our level best not to get too tangled in all the clues after a couple of glasses of wine!
Thanks a million! It was really refreshing!
