Working with On The Trail and SAPPI, the Nelson Mandela Capture Site has developed mountain bike and walking / running trails starting at the Capture Site and linking into an extended network of existing trails.

Initially two tracks have been groomed and will be maintained by the NMCS. Starting with a 5km track with a 190m elevation gain and a more difficult 10km track with a 294m elevation gain.  The well sign posted tracks are non-technical but require some fitness and will be suitable for intermediate to more experienced users

The NMCS will has a small bike shop for basic bike maintenance needs as well as a wash station. Staff will be onsite to assist riders and manage the trails daily.

Users are welcome to use these facilities and are encouraged to pay through an honour system system by either making a recommended cash payment at the bike shop or using Zapper QR Codes found at any number of entry points on site. Any money earned goes towards the upkeep of the track, salaries, staff training and, most importantly, programs for community development.

In time we intend to extend the facilities to include a pump track for all ages.
