In a typical month, the Capture Site employs over 35 staff, welcomes around 500 visitors per day, hosts numerous school groups and education programmes, trains 25 young adults for the hospitality and tourism industry and supports local businesses through construction and upgrade projects.

Your contributions through ticket sales, memberships, donations and through the shop, helps keep all this going.

This hand-stitched beaded panel, made by the Impumelelo Bead Artists, is created using traditional Preciosa glass beads from the Czech Republic.

The Impumelelo Bead Artists are situated at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site. They are internationally recognised as a highly-skilled group of women who have produced commissions for corporate, national and international collections. Some of these commissions include the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Malmo Museum in Sweden, the Johannesburg Art Gallery and the Apartheid Museum, Johannesburg.

Their outstanding beaded artwork and jewellery is available for sale online and in-store the Visitor Centre.
