COVID-19 | Update
The Nelson Mandela Capture Site has re-opended under reduced operating hours and capacity under COVID 19 restrictions.
Guests who would like to visit the site please follow the instructions below.
The circular route encourages physical distancing between visitors and staff.
To reduce the spread of viruses, please use the cashless payments offered where possible.

Follow the circular route

from the car park,

to Ticketing at the Visitor Centre,

along the Long Walk to Freedom,

down to the Sculpture,

to then return to the car park along a grass walkway.
Please follow the prescribed precautions;
Keep to your group and a safe distance from the group ahead of you.
Our staff will limit the number of people to avoid close personal contact.
Sanitise your hands when handling cash / credit card machines.
There are hand sanitisers at the ticket office.
All visitors are encouraged to use the washrooms to sanitise their hands.
There will be no guided tours. Visitors will have to self-guide.
Follow the prescribed hygiene protocols.
Respect your fellow visitor and The Capture Site staff.
Nelson Mandela Capture Site Visitor Centre and Sculpture
Monday - Sunday 09:00 - 17:00 (Last entry at 16:00)
Allow at least one to two hours to visit the site.

TRAILS
The Trails are open at all times to users.
Please make a donation towards the maintenance of the TRAILS using the Zapper Codes located at the start of the TRAILS pathways, the bike shop, ticket office and the Cafe'
The Capture Site security will allow car access to the Capture Site Parking from 06:30.

Directions
Take the N3 highway to Durban / Johannesburg.
Outside of Howick, take the Tweedie turnoff to Lions River. Turn right onto the R103.
The NMCS is 5 minutes from the N3 turnoff and is well signposted.
