COVID-19 | Update
The Nelson Mandela Capture Site will be re-opening in phases under Level 3 COVID 19 restrictions.
Access to the sculpture will be allowed and ticketed. (HALF PRICE)
We will only open the Visitor Centre and Cafe' when it is safer to do so.
Guests who would like to visit the site please follow the instructions below.
The circular route encourages physical distancing between visitors.
Follow the circular route
from the car park,
to Ticketing at the Visitor Centre,
along the Long Walk to Freedom,
down to the Sculpture,
to then return to the car park along a grass walkway.
Please follow the prescribed precautions;
Keep to your group and a safe distance from the group ahead of you.
Our staff will limit the number of people to avoid close personal contact.
Sanitise your hands when handling cash / credit card machines.
There are hand sanitisers at the ticket office.
All visitors are encouraged to use the washrooms to sanitise their hands.
There will be no guided tours. Visitors will have to self-guide.
Follow the prescribed hygiene protocols.
Respect your fellow visitor and The Capture Site staff.

Take the N3 highway to Durban / Johannesburg.
Outside of Howick, take the Tweedie turnoff to Lions River. Turn right onto the R103.
The NMCS is 5 minutes from the N3 turnoff and is well signposted.
